Some of these rules may seem obvious, but after some past experiences, we needed to add them.
- Absolutely no smoking of any kind (including vaping) inside the home or on the deck. Smoking is permitted around the fire pit, with butts being discarded responsibly. Do not put out cigarettes on the adirondack chairs or tables.
- Children should never be left unsupervised during your stay, especially in the loft or hot tub. Due to the potentially dangerous nature of an a-frame loft and stairs, children and pets are not to be left unsupervised upstairs at any time. Standing and climbing on the railing is strictly prohibited. You are responsible for maintaining the safety of your entire party.
- Please remove shoes upon entering and leave them at the door.
- Refrain from any activity which interferes with the neighbors’ peace and observe quiet hours from 10 PM-7 AM daily.
- We are on a septic. Do not flush feminine products, paper towels, “flushable” wipes, or cotton balls. Do not put coffee grinds or grease down the sink drain; there is no disposal.
- The kitchen counters are not cutting boards. We have provided cutting boards for use while preparing food.
- If you spill or burn something on the glass stove top, please try to clean it and do not continue cooking additional meals on top of it. We have glass top cleaner under the kitchen sink.
- No food or drinks permitted in the bedrooms.
- Vehicles must remain on the designated driveway. Do not drive on the lawn.
- Well behaved, potty trained dogs (up to 2) are welcome. Animals are not allowed on the furniture, but we understand it can happen. Please put blankets or sheets down if your dog insists on being on the furniture. Lint rollers are available in the laundry room, as are mops and vacuums. Spills / dribbles from water bowls must be promptly cleaned up. Animals must be leashed or under your control when outside. Please dispose of pet waste in the outside trash can.
- Hot tub: Please shower/rinse off to remove dirt, mud, lotions, soaps, oils, etc before entering the water - trust us, the extra effort to rinse off will be worth having clean water for your soak. Absolutely no glass, food, soap, or smoking of any kind in the hot tub. Please use plastic or metal drink containers. If the hot tub must be drained in order to clean after your stay, you may be fined a minimum of $400.
- Burn bans are common in Packwood at certain times of the year to protect the surrounding forests. We, and the fire marshal, take these VERY SERIOUSLY. If someone is caught burning during a ban, the fire marshal will issue the guest and host a $500 fine without a warning, so please confirm there are no burn bans in place before starting a camp fire.
- No parties / events or unregistered guests are permitted. You may be asked to leave if either of these rules are broken.
- Please do not crank up or down the heat or air conditioning to heat or cool the house faster. That is not effective and may over work the system leading to failure. Negligence that leads to service needing to be called may result in additional charges.
- If something breaks, please let us know. We cannot fix or replace something if we don't know about it, and being in a rural area makes everything take longer.
- This is our family home. We want you to enjoy your stay, but please respect it and treat it as your own. You may be liable for additional cleaning or damage fees should it be required.
